Fall Foliage

Well I haven't got much further with "After Midnight", since I went to visit my cousins and Mum in South Carolina this past weekend. I took the piece with me, thinking I'd have lots of free time to work on it... . I like to to keep my hand busy while I'm chatting.... but I'll give you 3 guesses how much of it got done!

We went up into the mountains to see the fall colors and they were just beautiful.... the colors seem more intense than ever this year. That's Mum and me in the photo at Caesar's Head Sate Park.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful shots of Fall. I don't get to see those rich reds and oranges here in Vegas. We pretty much go from green to yellowish to brown... -Don

We were really glad to be able take Mum 'leafing' - it's been decades since she's experienced fall. The colors are SO much better than the photos convey - this is the first time we've caught them at just about peak - they were unreal!

I took photos recently too, I love the mountains with the fall colors! I think this time of year is so inspirational. I also love the way you link your Autumn Series works to this post.

Hi Gunnel, thanks for becoming a follower! I hope you'll do more silk painting - it's the best!

Hi Kamana & Robin - I think fall is the most beautiful season... too bad it means winter is around the corner (I'm not a big fan).

What a beautiful spot with your mum and fall colors! You both look great! I understand the need to keep hands busy, but perhaps it was good to have the break.

Thanks Jeanette! I've always been attracted to bright colors...

You're right Beverly - a total break is sometimes good! Nobody believes Mum is 92. Walking, even with a stick, is hard for her but she was determined to see this view!

I loved your blog, it’s attractive and colorful. Autumn is an inspiring season. The photos are wonderful but the way that you capture the colors in your work it’s amazing. I am painting in silk again I love it. Bringing together the colors to create the fall atmosphere is remarkable experience.
